Cazenovia, NY -- A 20-year-old from Manlius was in critical condition this morning following a one-car accident on Route 92 in the town of Cazenovia, according to the Madison County sheriff's office.

Dennis J. Buckley of 203 Garrett Drive was taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious head and neck injuries after crashing on Rt. 92 just west of the village of Cazenovia around 3:15 a.m.

According to a news release from Undersheriff Doug Bailey, Buckley was driving a 1997 Chrysler Concorde west on Rt. 92, about one mile east of the intersection with Temperance Hill Road, when he apparently lost control of the car on a curve.

Buckley's car left the roadway and struck a milepost marker and a utility pole, which was severed. The car rolled multiple times, Bailey said.

Buckley was wearing a seat belt and was not ejected from the car, the release states.

A passing motorist reported the accident, and Buckley was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Cazenovia Volunteer Fire Department. He was transported by CAVAC ambulance.

Deputies have yet to determine a cause for the mishap.
